Drive from Kathmandu (1,400 m) to Pharping (1,600 m) and hike to Champadevi (2,285 m) then return to Pharping (1,600 m) and Drive to Kathmandu (1,400 m). Your journey begins with a short and scenic drive south of Kathmandu to Pharping, a culturally rich town known for its monasteries, sacred caves, and spiritual atmosphere. From here, the hike starts along a well-defined trail that gradually ascends through lush pine forests and peaceful surroundings, offering a refreshing break from the busy city life.
As you hike higher, the trail becomes quieter and more scenic, passing through forested ridges and occasional clearings with beautiful views of the Kathmandu Valley below. The steady climb makes this hike suitable for beginners as well as experienced hikers looking for a short escape. After a few hours, you reach the summit of Champadevi Hill (2,285 m), one of the highest points around the valley.
At the top, you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges, including Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and other snow-capped peaks on a clear day. The hill is also home to a sacred temple dedicated to Goddess Champadevi, making it both a scenic and spiritual destination. After enjoying the views, taking photos, and resting, you descend along the same trail back to Pharping. From there, you will drive back to Kathmandu, concluding a fulfilling and refreshing day hike.
