We have curated hiking routes across Nepal's most spectacular and culturally rich landscapes — each region offering its own distinct terrain, character, and reward.
Kathmandu Valley
The hills encircling Nepal's capital are laced with ancient pilgrimage trails, dense forest paths, and hilltop viewpoints that frame the entire Himalayan range on a clear day. Hike to sacred temples, explore protected forest reserves, and discover a side of Kathmandu that most visitors never see.
Popular Hikes: Phulchoki Hill, Nagarjun Forest Reserve, Champa Devi
Pokhara & Annapurna Foothills
Nepal's hiking gateway. Pokhara sits at the base of the Annapurna range with immediate access to trails ranging from easy lakeside strolls to serious ridge climbs with front-row Himalayan views. Sunrise from Sarangkot is one of the most memorable moments any hiker can experience in Nepal.
Popular Hikes: Sarangkot Sunrise, Australian Camp, Dhampus Village Walk
Chitwan & Jungle Foothills
Hiking in Nepal is not only about mountains. The lowland trails skirting Chitwan National Park offer a completely different kind of adventure — dense subtropical jungle, riverbank paths, and the genuine thrill of walking through one of Asia's finest wildlife habitats. Keep your eyes open: elephants, rhinos, and gharials are regular trail companions here.
Popular Hikes: Bis Hajaar Taal Nature Walk, Tamor Community Forest Trail, Rapti River Bank Hike
Bandipur & Midhill Heritage Trails
Perched on a dramatic ridgeline between Kathmandu and Pokhara, Bandipur is one of Nepal's most beautifully preserved Newari towns and the starting point for some of the country's finest midhill hikes. Stone-paved paths connect ancient villages, terraced farmland, and sweeping viewpoints that take in both the Himalayas to the north and the Terai plains to the south.
Popular Hikes: Bandipur Hill Walk, Siddha Cave Trail, Tanahu Ridgeline Path
Nagarkot & Dhulikhel
Sitting on the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, Nagarkot and Dhulikhel are Nepal's premier sunrise hiking destinations. Trails here wind through pine forests and rural Newari villages before emerging onto open ridges with some of the most sweeping Himalayan panoramas accessible by a one or two day hike from the capital.
Popular Hikes: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel Ridge Walk, Dhulikhel Sunrise Trail, Namobuddha Day Hike
Lumbini & Western Terai
The birthplace of Lord Buddha, Lumbini sits in Nepal's western plains and offers a uniquely peaceful hiking experience through sacred gardens, ancient monasteries, and the flat, open landscape of the Terai. A one or two day walk through the pilgrimage circuit here is unlike anything else Nepal's trail network has to offer.
